| Synopsis: This
undistinguished, amateur costume drama by director Andrew Marton was
produced in the United Arab Republic and tells the story of the
Central Asian Tartars invasion of Egypt in the 14th century. Under
their leader Timur, inheritor of the tradition that began with the
great Mongolian Khans (Genghiz Khan, Kubilai Khan), the Tartar hordes
invade the Middle East and take over areas as widespread as Persia,
Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Syria. A lowly woman from a harem (Lubna Aziz)
rises to lead the Egyptians against the invaders. ~ Eleanor Mannikka,

|
| Credits:
Cast: Ken Clark, Mark Forest, Jose Greco |
| Synopsis: Mark
Forest stars as Hercules in this sword-and-sandal affair from 1960
(its American release occured two years later). The film bears a
striking resemblance to the like-vintage Hercules Against the
Barbarians, right down to the choice of leading man. We suspect that
both films were excerpted from a longer Hercules epic, then released
separately to engender a higher box-office take. Oh, yes the plot:
Hercules takes on the three sons of Genghis Khan, quite a remarkable
feat for a superhero from ancient Greece. Jose Greci also appears in
this tribute to testosterone. |

Baghdad to Holaco king of Tatars, due to to the betrayal
of the Ibn al-Alkami to his Master al-Musta'sim Billah,

Syrian
director Bassel al Khatib directed this
TV series entitled Hulako, the leader
of the Mogol during their occupation of the Arab homeland.
The historical series deals with the mechanism of life of
the Mogol, their way of living and laws. The series makes
a comparison between the past and the present where there
is a super military force that wants to sweep the region
whose people suffer from disunity and weakness. Such a
condition was prevalent at the end at the Abbaside period.
The series is being filmed in the coastal area with the
participation of actors and actresses from different Arab
countries. From Syria, the cast includes Ayman Zeidan,
Abdel Rahman Al Rashi, Norman Asad, Bassam Lutfi and many
others. by

Dschingis Khan (1964) German version |

Synopsis:
Japanese costume adventure about a samurai warrior's
efforts to stop Kublai Khan's Mongol hordes from overrunning Japan in
the 13th century. This unusual film looks and plays far less like a
samurai movie and more like an Italian sword ‘n' sandal spectacle--a
genre which was internationally popular at the time. |

Synopsis: In the midst of a war between Venice and Genoa,
Marco Polo, a citizen of Venice, is imprisoned by the inquisition and
is charged with heresy. The Genoans, whose real interest is seizing
control over Venice's lucrative trade routes, use Polo as a pawn and
under cover of the inquisition, extract from him a confession that
will convince the pope to declare a papal interdiction on Venice. The
Venetians call for the French army to assist them in destroying
Genoa's plot. Polo agrees and begins to dictate his story as
Rosticello writes and occasionally embellishes with his own fantasies.

Synopsis:
This
undistinguished, amateur costume drama by director Andrew Marton was
produced in the United Arab Republic and tells the story of the
Central Asian Tartars invasion of Egypt in the 14th century. Under
their leader Timur, inheritor of the tradition that began with the
great Mongolian Khans (Genghiz Khan, Kubilai Khan), the Tartar hordes
invade the Middle East and take over areas as widespread as Persia,
Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Syria. A lowly woman from a harem (Lubna Aziz)
rises to lead the Egyptians against the invaders. ~ Eleanor Mannikka,
